Yamka is the first tauren I've ever played. I'm still a little shaky on certain aspect of their lore, so this profile will likely undergo revisions in the future. Not to mention the character still has lots of room for development.
Yamka grew up believing herself the daughter of a lesser member of the Skychaser tribe. To this day, she does not know that she is actually an orphan, adopted by Margara Skychaser as an infant. A child of a nomadic tribe, Yamka's mother found her in the ruins of a camp, strapped into a papoose and apparently overlooked by raiding centaur. While fire raged and embers danced in the air, the child squalled, drawing the attention of another passing tribe of tauren. Margara, a young member of the group, found the child and took her in as her own, raising her to be a member of the Skychaser and to become a shaman in her own right.
Yamka is fairly young, having only reached adulthood in the past few years. She is somewhat naive and overly optimistic, and has an almost painfully happy-go-lucky attitude than can prove highly annoying to the wrong people. Her life has been nothing of note, aside from her odd beginnings as an orphan. However, she does not know that Margara is not her biological mother. She has never questioned her family relations, and no one has ever treated her as anything less than blood kin.
When Margara died in battle against the Alliance, Yamka left her home encampment in the Barrens and traveled to Thunderbluff, seeking out fellow tribesmen there to continue her training as a shaman.
It was in Mulgore that Yamka encountered Korouk Stonehoof. The warlord found her in Bloodhoof village, seeking a shaman to aid him in contacting the spirits. Yamka, still quite fresh in her training, agreed to help him. Korouk sought contact with the spirit of his sister. Uncertain if she lived or had passed, he wanted confirmation of whether he should be mourning or anticipating her return.
The news was not good. In the aftermath of her contact with the spirits, Yamka comforted the older, battle hardened tauren. Korouk sought Yamka out frequently after this, eventually offering her a place in his warhost's tribe, and then in his own heart. He proposed, and while initially met with uncertainty in the light of Yamka's youth and shyness, she took only a little convincing before she agreed.
Since, she has become an Acolyte of the tribe, and works within the Mistreavers in that capacity, though she has yet to make herself very well known to the majority of the host. Her shyness makes it somewhat difficult for her to reach out to the other Reavers, but she's trying to work on it.
